Jessica Chastain

JessicaJessica Michelle Chastain, born on the 24th of March, 1977, is an American actress. Her films that focus on the theme of women are her mainstay. Her work has earned her numerous accolades, including an Academy Award as well as a Golden Globe Award. Time magazine named her one of the top 100 people on the planet in 2012. Chastain developed an interest in acting as a child and made her stage debut in 1998 in Shakespeare's Juliet. After completing her acting studies at the Juilliard School, she was hired to a talent holding agreement with television producer John Wells. She was a regular guest star in a number of TV shows and also played roles in numerous stage productions. Following her film debut at the age of 31 with the drama Jolene (2008), Chastain became a household name in the year 2011 , with six films released which included the dramatics Take Shelter (2011) and The Tree of Life (2011). She was awarded Academy Award nominations for playing an aspiring socialite in the period drama The Help (2011) and a CIA analyst in the suspense thriller Zero Dark Thirty (2012). The science fiction films Interstellar (2014), The Martian (2015) and It Chapter Two (2018) were more commercially successful. Chastain's strong-willed roles in the dramas The Most Valuable Year (2014), Miss Sloane (2016), Molly's Game (2017) and Scenes from a Marriage (2021) were also praised. She later played Tammy Faye Bakker in the biopic The Eyes of Tammy Faye (2021) which won her the Academy Award for Best Actress, and Tammy Wynette in the miniseries George & Tammy (2022). Chastain has founded Freckle Films to promote diversity in film production. She is also an investor in Angel City FC. She has a strong voice on mental issues and race and gender equality. Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo is her husband.
